I’ve been cooking up something new on the Faangshui platform, and I’m excited to share it with you today: Bugbash.
What’s Bugbash?
It’s a short coding challenge where you’ll fix bugs in an algorithmic function. Instead of solving big problems from scratch, you’ll spend just a few minutes actively reading and debugging. Why? Because reading code is one of the best ways to sharpen your algorithmic skills—but it can get dull if it’s too passive. Finding bugs keeps it engaging, memorable, and, dare I say, fun.
How It Works
Six Bug-Fixing Tasks
One Qualifier: This task lets you dip your toes in without pressure.
Five Main Tasks: These are the timed challenges that count toward your final score.
Scoring
Your score depends on how fast you squash the bugs and how many failed attempts you make.
There’s also a leaderboard so you can see how you stack up against others.
Why It’s Worth a Try
Minimal Time Required
Each Bugbash challenge should take you only a few minutes—perfect if you’re busy but want a quick mental exercise.Active Code Reading
You’ll get better at understanding and parsing code by spotting and fixing errors instead of passively reading.Explore Faangshui
If you haven’t visited the Faangshui platform yet, Bugbash is a fun way to dip your toes in. It’s quick, interactive, and you’ll see what the platform is all about.
Give Bugbash a Go!
